Damien Jurado est un auteur-compositeur-interprète de Seattle aux États-Unis. La famille de sa mère était des mormons pratiquants et sa mère a été très impliquée dans des mouvements conspirationnistes aux États-Unis. Ceci a influencé les créations de Jurado plus tard dans sa vie.

Bien que Jurado est un artiste solo, sa carrière a été marquée par des collaborations importantes. Parmi celles-ci, celle avec feu Richard Swift est la plus importante. Pendant des années, les deux musiciens ont créé ensemble.
