Anohni and the Johnsons est un groupe formé en 1995 par Anohni (sous son nom avant la transition) en référence à l’activiste trans Marsha P. Johnson. L’album I Am a Bird Now paru en 2005 a valu au groupe un prix Mercury. La formation a lancé 4 albums entre 2000 et 2010. Puis, ANOHNI s’est lancée dans un projet avec Oneohtrix Point Never et Hudson Mohawke sous son nom personnel. En 2023, le groupe s’est réuni pour un nouvel album : My Back Was a Bridge for You to Cross.
